Energy-Aware Planning and Operation

Energy consumption modeling in UAVs and eVTOLs involves developing mathematical frameworks to estimate power usage during flight. This research area focuses on optimizing efficiency by analyzing aerodynamic forces, propulsion system characteristics, payload impact, and external factors like wind. The goal is to minimize energy per distance traveled (EPD) through improved control strategies, vehicle design, and mission planning, ensuring longer endurance and operational sustainability.
